The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

As we step into 2025, let’s reflect on the powerful truths of the thoughts I shared with you in 2024. Transformation starts in our hearts through God’s Word. Each day is an opportunity to trust His plan and experience His presence more deeply. Here are 10 life-changing biblical insights to empower us to live victoriously in the year ahead, with confidence and peace, knowing His word is true and He is always with us.

First insight is God is with you in the dark valleys. David’s words in Psalm 23:4 remind us that even in the darkest moments of life, we do not walk alone. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me” (Psalm 23:4, NASB). No matter what difficulties come our way, God’s presence brings comfort, and He will never leave us.

Then, trust God through circumstances. David’s declaration, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1 NASB), teaches us that we can trust God in every situation. Whether we’re facing loss, confusion, or fear, He is our provider and protector, leading us with love and care.

The third insight is that God uses trials to refine us. Job reminds us in Job 23:10 that God does not waste our suffering: “But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10 NASB). Through every trial, God is at work refining our faith and preparing us for greater purposes.

Then, we learned that brokenness has purpose. Joseph’s life shows how God can turn our pain into His purpose. Despite betrayal and hardship, Joseph declared, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20 NASB). Our struggles can become steppingstones for God’s greater plan.

The fifth insight that we learned is the fact that in our weakness, God’s power is perfected. I loved how because of Paul’s thorn, it teaches us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that our weaknesses reveal God’s strength: “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB). Through our moments of vulnerability, God’s power shines the brightest.

The sixth powerful insight is that we must wait on the Lord in order to gain strength. In Psalm 27:13-14, David shows us the power of hope and patience in the Lord: “Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:14, NASB). Trusting in God’s timing and waiting for His deliverance strengthens our faith.

The next truth is that we can keep coming to Jesus for rest and peace. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28-29 to keep coming to Him, no matter how often we struggle: “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NASB). His invitation is open-ended, offering peace and rest for our souls as we come to Him continually.

The 8th fact according to Scripture is that we must pray without ceasing. This short but powerful verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 urges us to “pray without ceasing”. In every situation, constant communication with God brings peace, guidance, and endurance to keep pressing forward.

The ninth insight that we must never stop doing is to call on the name of the Lord for salvation and strength. I love how David said in Psalm 116:2, “Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live”. Calling on God is not only our privilege but also our lifeline, drawing us closer to Him in times of need.

Finally, our last insight that we should take into the next year is the truth that the Holy Spirit is always with us. Just like the Prego sauce ad reminds us, “It’s in there,” the Holy Spirit is within every believer, empowering and guiding us. The Spirit equips us to live with God’s strength and wisdom, making us more like Christ each day.

As you embrace these powerful truths and allow them to guide you through the challenges and joys of 2025, remember that God is faithful to complete the good work He has started in you. Trust in His promises, lean on His strength, and step forward with confidence, knowing that you are never alone on this Christian journey.
