The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

2 Timothy 2:21-22 says, “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.”

God will never force us to do anything. He doesn’t twist our arms or use us as puppets. If you serve Him, it is because you have chosen to be a willing vessel. A willing vessel is someone who has let go of the alluring Earthly desires, their own selfish longings, and their own will. Someone who is a willing vessel has abandoned the customs of the world for the glory, joy, and will of God.

Today’s reminder is simple. In everything we do, in what we say, and in how we carry ourselves, we should be a willing vessel to be consumed for the glory and purpose of Jesus Christ.
