I remember as a child that I would always try to explain myself. There were times when I thought an explanation was needed. My mom would say something, and I would immediately say, “But…” Of course, she would tell me to be quiet and I would try again with, “But Moma…” I even remember times when the Lord would tell me to do something and I would say, “But God….” As believers in Christ, our “But God” may be an explanation or a subtle disobedient remark. I thank God today when our Creator says, “But God”, it is a declaration of His power, His will, and His divine order!
Our encouragement today is that you and I want a “But God” in our situation. Think about it like this. A “But God” is Him stepping into our RIGHT NOW circumstances. When our current problems need love and some mercy, a “But God” will intervene. It will say an Ephesians 2:4-5, “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” If you and I no longer have strength to fight the battle, a “But God” will intercede. It will say a Psalm 72:26, “My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.”
You and I would not be here today if there was never a “But God”!
