The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

There are times when all of us have thought that we can’t do something. Many of us feel inadequate for the position. Maybe we second guessed ourselves on raising our children. We all have asked ourselves, “Can I really do this?”. One of the things that I love about God is that He knows each of our frailties. God is well acquainted with our struggles and sins. But the good news is that He has sent His Holy Spirit to help us. What we cannot do in our human strength, God says to you and me today, “But God Can”.

We often think that we can’t love people who seem unlovable “But God Can”. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can demonstrate Luke 6:31. It says, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” And because we all need the love of God, Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

It may seem as if you can’t forgive people who have hurt or disappointed you “But God Can”. The Holy Spirit equips us to do what we cannot do in our own strength. Ephesians 4:32 commands us, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Never forget that if Christ has forgiven you, you are to forgive others.

We may not be able to solve our current situations, but when we fix our eyes on Jesus, He reminds us “But God Can”. 1 Peter 1:13 instructs us, “Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

On today, when we make Christ bigger than our reality, He will remind us, “But God Can”.

Search yourself and go deeper: What is your issue today? Is there anything too hard for God? Do you have hatred in your heart? Are you battling low self-esteem? Are you facing a sickness? Because of that failed relationship, are you feeling unloved and unworthy? Go to God in prayer and ask Him to help you. Pour out your heart to Him. Surrender each situation at His feet.
