It is our human nature to lean on other people or ourselves for the things that we need. We look to other people to be our advisor. We look to relationships to find love. As children, we need our parents for security. We depend on our jobs to be our providers. Unfortunately, we strive after worldly things for happiness. However, Psalms 188:8 reminds us, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” I want to remind you today that can’t nobody compete with Jesus.
Jesus wants you and me to know can’t nobody be your rock and strength. David declared in Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is the strength of my life.”
Jesus wants you and me to know can’t nobody be your hiding place. Psalm 46: 1 declares, “God is our refuge and strength, a present help in trouble.”
Jesus wants you and me to know can’t nobody be everything you need. Philippians 4:19 proclaims, “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Because we live in a fallen world with sinful people, people will disappoint you, but remember “Can’t Nobody” do you like Jesus!
Search myself and go deeper: As I examine my life today, who or what I’m I depending on more than Jesus? Why am I looking to people or things to give me what I need? Do I not trust Jesus?
