The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

There are times in our lives when it seems as though everything goes wrong. We feel defeated. We do not see a resolution. The enemy’s job is to deceive us into thinking that things will never get better. He wants you to believe that you are stuck. The enemy of your soul wants you to doubt God and His Word. But be encouraged today. For in Hebrews 10:35-36 it says, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” With God, you are never defeated but always victorious.

In this life, we can not lose hope in Jesus. We all see people who we “think” have everything they want. We “think” that they do not have any problems. We cannot rely on our feelings nor can we allow ourselves to be deceived by what we see. The grass is not always greener on the other side. What you see in the natural can be a trick of Satan to deceive you. I am reminded that in 2 Corinthians 4:18 it says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Regardless, if your prayers are answered the way you want them to be or not, you must put your trust in Jesus. You must have unceasing praise. Be determined to believe that God is for you! At the end of the day, continue to surrender your all to the Lord. When you remain in obedience, the Lord will bless you. You may be defeated by the world’s standards but you are always victorious in the eyes of God.

Search myself and go deeper: What situation in my life has me defeated or victorious? If I am feeling defeated, what scriptures can I read and meditate on? With those scriptures, I will pray over my situation and watch God work things out for my good. If I am feeling victorious, I will praise the Lord and thank Him for coming to my rescue. Even though I have victory, I will read scriptures that will strengthen my faith and trust in the Lord.
