With all that is happening in our world today, God’s grace is still sufficient. You may be lacking in money, peace, or patience. Maybe today, you need God to show up for you in a mighty way. I encourage you to start praising Jesus. David reminds us in Psalms 7:17, “I will give thanks to the Lord according to his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.” Many or all of us can complain about something. Our situation may be bad but let’s praise Him anyway for His goodness. His name alone is excellent. In Psalms 150:6 it says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” The birds praise Him. The trees, the wind and even the wild animals praise Him. So today, “Despite Everything Praise Him”.
Don’t forget that God is faithful. Do not allow the enemy of your soul to fool you by what you see. Proverbs 3:5 reminds you to, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Be very careful where you put your trust. For Psalms 146:3 tell us, “Don’t put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.” Jesus alone must be the first person you always turn to. He is trustworthy and will always be there for you.
So despite everything, you should praise Him today.
Search myself and go deeper: Life is not fair sometimes. I understand that I can cast my cares on Jesus because He loves me and He understands everything I go through. However, wallowing in self pity and pouting does not help me. I must always remember that this life is not about me! It is about Jesus. Because Jesus loves me, I will praise him right now. Write a thank you letter of praise to Jesus.
