As followers of Jesus, we have not been called to sit and wait until Jesus returns. We easily give in to distractions. Many Christians do not share the Gospel of Jesus. We allow our flesh to rule over us. You and I, at times, give up too easily when battles come our way. My desire today is to encourage you to “Do Your Part”.
In order for you to “Do Your Part”, you must remain obedient to Jesus and His word. We have all heard the sayings many times like, “I’m living to live again!” and “This place is not my home!” Well, if this is true then we are called to be obedient servants. John 14:15 reminds us, “If you love me, obey my commandments.” Then 1 John 2:5-6 says, “But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.”
If you and I want to live victorious lives, then “Do Your Part”. Many of us have forgotten that this world is not our home. Some Christians have mimicked the world so much that now you can’t tell us apart. 1 John 2:15-17 reminds us, “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”
If you and I are honest with ourselves, we aren’t waiting on God, He is actually waiting on us. God is waiting on you to trust Him. He is waiting on me to demonstrate patience. God is looking for a people who will study His word. God wants you to do your part and tell someone about the hope that you have. When we do our part as believers in Jesus, He will certainly do His part.
Search yourself and go deeper:
1. Examine yourself. What are you not doing that you know you should be doing?
2. Why are you allowing yourself, people, or your current circumstances to hinder you from doing your part?
Action Plan:
1. Read and meditate on Psalm 19. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you.
