The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

In this day and time if you were to leave your house door open, someone will go in and steal all of your possessions. If you were to leave your vehicle doors unlocked with the keys in the ignition, someone will steal your vehicle.

These situations are no different than our spiritual lives and our walk with Christ. When we do not study the word daily, stay in constant prayer with the Lord, and keep our minds on Jesus, we leave ourselves open for Satan to come in and steal from us. But, Satan can not steal something from you unless you give it to him so, “Don’t Give It Away”.

Instead of giving away your patience for impatience, the word of God says in Psalms 27:14, “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.”

Instead of giving into fear because of your situation or what your eyes see, the word of God says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given you the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Instead of feeling like nothing is working out for you, the word of God says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”

We are faced daily with various trials and tribulations. When these situations occur, we must read, believe and stand on what the word of God says about it and “Don’t Give It Away.”

“Don’t Give It Away” Prayer: Most Gracious Heavenly Father, I have allowed the enemy to steal my joy, my peace and my contentment in you. Lord, forgive me for not trusting you fully. My desire is to trust you. My desire is to know you more through your word. On today, Lord, help me by the power of the Holy Spirit to strengthen me where I am weak. Lift me up where I am bowed down. Open doors Lord that no man can shut. Bring every high place low. Jesus, you bled and died for me to have life and to have it to the full. You died so I may live. Jesus, I declare today that I will not give anything away. I honor you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen!
