The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

For most Christians, Sunday is the Sabbath. It is a day set aside to fellowship together with like-minded believers. Sunday is a day that you and I meet at a building to worship and praise the true and living God. In these last days, it so crucial for us to live what we speak. It is time out for us to pretend to be holy on Sunday and full of hell Monday through Saturday. Jesus desires for you and me to be hearers and doers of His word “Every Day Including Sunday”.

In order for us to live like Jesus “Every Day Including Sunday”, we must realize that our lives are not hidden from God. Proverbs 15:3 reminds us, “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”

For us to live like Jesus “Every Day Including Sunday”, we must quickly confess our issues/sins. Remember that Jesus can handle it. Galatians 5:19-21 reminds us of the actions we once enjoyed. It says, “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”

To be true followers of Jesus, one must exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” As we grow in Christ, this fruit should be evident in our lives. Galatians 5:24-25 also encourages us by saying, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.”

When we surrender our lives to Jesus, we are committed to dying to ourselves and living for Him “Every Day Including Sunday”.
