Our human minds cannot fathom the plans that God has for us. We often allow our circumstances to cause us to forget who we serve. We can rejoice in knowing that God loves us, and He desires for His will to be done in each of our lives. So, our encouragement today is that “God Always Had a Plan”.
I wanted to use the word, “had” because it means the past tense of something. Before you and I were born, “God Always Had a Plan”.
“God Always Had a Plan” for us to obey Him. Psalm 19 verses 7-9. They remind us, “The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair.”
Because God has given us the richness of His Word, we can depend on what it says. Psalm 33 reminds us that nothing and no one can interrupt God because He always had a plan. Verses 9-11 says, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”
Finally, take courage on today. Your life and my life may not be perfect. We may not have everything we desire and that is ok because we can boast in Jesus knowing that “God Always Had a Plan”. I remember how Paul wrote so eloquently in Ephesians 2 about the wonderful gift that God has given to each believer. Verses 4-5 reminds us, “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” Because God had a redemptive plan verses 6 and 7 says, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”
Our situation may not be favorable, but nevertheless, we can rejoice in the fact that “God Always Had a Plan”.
