We are all familiar with bounced checks. We have either bounced a few ourselves or we know of someone who has bounced a check or two. A bounced check can be described as a check that was used for payment, but there are not enough funds to cover the expense. In life, most of us have purchased items that our bank account could not cover. But in the kingdom of God, “God Doesn’t Write Bounced Checks” because God and His word is truth (John 17:17). I want to encourage you today to believe God and His word over how you feel, what you might be seeing or your experiences.
The Word of God is full of His promises, His characteristics, His commands and His love. So let’s look at a few areas that we can meditate on today about why our God can be trusted.
- God doesn’t write bounce “LACK” checks. The word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:10, “The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.”
- God doesn’t write bounce “FALSE PROMISE” checks. The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 1:20, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
- God doesn’t write bounce “FEAR” checks. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us by saying, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- God doesn’t write bounce “IMPATIENT” checks. David boasts about God’s great love and patience for us in Psalm 103 verses 8-12. It says, “The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
I am a bold and a firm believer in the God I serve. I’m a living witness of what God can do. HE CAN BE TRUSTED! You and I have history with God. We have seen His miracles. We have experienced His mercy and love. We have even experienced His divine protection. He has always been there for you. No, you and I may not have gotten what we wanted or prayed for but remember that God’s faithfulness is not based on what He withholds from us. God’s faithfulness is based on His character because “God Doesn’t Write Bounced Checks”.
