The word testimony means a formal written or spoken statement, especially one given in a court of law. If your family is like mine, we love to watch a good show about law. There is “Law and Order”, “All Rise, “Blue Bloods” and “The Good Fight”. I could not forget my favorite, “Matlock”. In each episode, there is always a trial of some kind. There will be the person who may or may not have committed the crime. Or there will be a person who looks innocent but is guilty.
In life, each of us is on trial. Do you live your life as if it is on trial? If you are on the witness stand, what would you testify to? Are you able to withstand being brutally attacked and cross examined by the enemy and this world?
If we talk to the Apostle Paul, he will tell us, “He’s Building My Testimony”. He was a well-educated man who persecuted the Church. He testified in 1 Corinthians 15:9, “For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church.” We can be encouraged by Paul’s life. It is never too late for God to restore or redeem you. Paul said in 1 Timothy 1:16, “But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.” Paul testified, “He’s Building My Testimony”.
If we look at your life, what would it say? How is Jesus building your testimony? Remember that we cannot have a testimony without a test. God uses our past, our issues, our hang-ups, our habits, and our sins, to build our testimony. They all work together for His glory. I want to encourage you that I too have sinned and have fallen short of God’s glory, but I’m still here today because, “He’s Building My Testimony”!
