The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

Life can leave us feeling perplexed, but as believers, we have an advocate in Jesus Christ. Romans 8:34 reminds us that He intercedes for us, offering comfort and guidance in every struggle.

Regardless of what the world may say man-made idols offer no true hope, as Paul states in 1 Corinthians 8:4—there is no God but one. Only Jesus can provide the peace we long for.

You may be wondering why do I place my hope in Jesus? Well, because when I was down, He picked me up. Psalm 34:18 assures us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit. When I was in pain, He alone soothed me. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 calls God the “Father of mercies and God of all comfort,” who comforts us in our affliction. There was a time I sinned, putting something, someone else in the place of God, but Jesus forgave me. 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins, He will forgive and cleanse us. When I felt hopeless, Jesus alone gave me hope. Romans 15:13 reminds us that God fills us with joy and peace, and we abound in hope through the Holy Spirit.

For those of us facing a hopeless situation with a hopeless outlook, I encourage you to place your trust in the power of God’s word. Jesus is the only true and living hope, and His name alone holds the power to transform your life and provide the hope you desperately need.
