To know that you are nothing is to realize that there is something and someone greater than you-Jesus. When you come to yourself and know that you were created from the dust but somehow in the wonderfulness of God’s mercy and grace, He has justified you and me. For us who have surrendered our lives to Jesus and professed Him as Lord and Savior, He has made us sons and daughters.
In the beginning Adam was close to God. God and Adam talked. They had a personal relationship. There was no separation. Everything Adam needed was found in God. However, because of the disobedience of Adam as described in Genesis chapter 3, a wall was formed that separated us from God.
This wall remained until the Lamb of God, who is Jesus, was offered as a sacrifice to die for our sins. Paul described this best in Romans 5:19 when he said, “For as by one man’s disobedience, many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
Thank God for Jesus who has redeemed us. And because of Him, we can boldly approach the throne to obtain mercy in our time of need. Because of Him, we have been justified, just as if we had never sinned. Because of Jesus, our sins have been forgiven.
In the course of time, Jesus clothed Himself in flesh to become grace for us. It is because of Jesus we move, breathe and have our being/life. Therefore, we must remember that we are nothing without HIM.
“I Am Nothing Without Jesus” Praise Time: Lord Jesus, I honor you for being my everything. I thank you that you have proven yourself to be trustworthy. I thank you that when I was dead in my sins and separated from you, your precious Spirit drew me. I praise you, Jesus, because you sacrificed your life for me. As you hung on the cross, you thought of me. This is how much you love me. I thank you that I am not my own. You created me from nothing to become your humble servant. You have been my provider. You are my strong tower. You have given me favor. I praise you because you have knit my broken pieces together. You have given me beauty for ashes. You have given me joy for mourning. You have given me a garment of praise for heaviness. You and you alone are worthy of my praise. I am in awe of you, your ways, your Word, your understanding, your power, your love, your mercy and your forgiveness….your love for me is better than life!
