Do you have a dead situation? Or are you facing something that you thought would never happen? When I think about the word dead, it can be described as a lack of activity, no longer functioning, or no longer alive. Can you and I just muster up enough faith to encourage ourselves and say, “IT AINT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE”!!!! Y’all I’m already happy and ready to praise and worship the Jesus who CAN!!!
Thinking about the many miracles that Jesus performed should remind and encourage us that “It AIN’T What It Looks Like”. A man named Jairus had a sick child as described to us in Mark chapter 5 verses 21-43. Verses 22-24 illustrates the scene like this, “Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, pleading fervently with him. ‘My little daughter is dying,’ he said. ‘Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.’ Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him.” As Jesus was interrupted by a woman who also needed Him, we come to verse 35. It says, “While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, ‘Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.’” But Jesus says to Jairus in verse 36, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” I would like to think that Jesus could’ve said, “It AIN’T What It Looks Like”. Of course, we know the ending, that Jesus healed his daughter.
In order for you and me to grab a hold of the truth and the power of God’s word, we cannot lose heart. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
I don’t know what you’re facing; I don’t know what it is in your life that may seem to be dead. I’m sold out about Jesus and His Word to believe Him in every situation, every dilemma, and every broken place that IT AINT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!!!
