In this world, we think that our goodness, every now and again thank you Jesus, sometime bible reading, partial faithfulness or partial obedience will work with God. Satan will deceive you and have you to believe that you can be satisfied just as you are. He wants you to give in to the culture’s way of thinking, “You do you!” The enemy of your soul will have you to think that the things you do are ok, but the devil is a liar! The word of God says in James 1:22, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
With God, disobedience just can not work. In 2 Samuel Chapter 11, David lusted for a married woman and then had her husband killed. The child that David and Bathsheba conceived in sin died because “It Just Can Not Work”. When I read this, I asked God why. David stepped out of the will of God and sinned.
When you are called to be used for God’s glory, He cannot bless something if you step out of His will and sin. God loves you. Things must be done God’s way. This is why “It Just Can Not Work”. You may wonder why it appears that people in the world can to do this or that with no consequences. Well, we must remember who we are in Christ. In Psalm 37:1-3 it reminds us, “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the LORD and do good.” These people are not proclaiming anything anyway. Since you and I have have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus, we must live our lives in line with the word of God.
Finally, God is holy. He cannot bless something that is done in sin, contrary to His word and out of His will for your life….“It Just Can Not Work”.
“It Just Can Not Work” Prayer: Lord, you and I know that my life is not right with you. Others may not see my secret sins, but there is nothing hidden from You. I may be a liar, a murderer, have an unforgiving heart, a fornicator, a drunk, a drug addict, an adulterer, a deceiver or a homosexual. I ask for your forgiveness. Jesus, I do not have to give in to my sinful nature. Your word says that there is nothing too hard for you! Jesus, I surrender my sins to you. I no longer want to be held captive by the sins that so easily entangles me. Give me the self control and strength to do things Your way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
