Webster describes mercy as a blessing that is an act of divine compassion or favor. Mercy is one of the many attributes of God; it is who He is. Exodus 34:6 and Deuteronomy 4:31 reminds us, “The Lord is merciful and gracious…”
On today, some of us seem to have short term memory, amnesia, or just a boastful spirit because we tend to talk about what “we” have done, the things “we” have accomplished, the worldly or biblical knowledge “we” have attained, and/or what “we” have gone through. We can not take God’s mercy for granted…. “It was and is Mercy”!
In Psalm 100:3, it says, “Know that the Lord is God: it is He that has made us and not we ourselves.”
In Ephesians 2:4 it reminds us that God is rich in mercy.
At the end of the day, you are not where you are because of you. You do not have the house, the job, the peace, a sound mind, or anything apart from God because “IT WAS AND IS MERCY“.
“It was and is Mercy” Confession: Most Gracious Heavenly Father, forgive me for thinking that “I” have done anything to create the life I have now. I forsake my selfish ways. Lord, I acknowledge that I need you. I am nothing without you. You are the only one that deserves the credit for my life. If it was not for you on my side, where would I be? I thank you that I am able to see my selfish ways. Lord, change my heart and my mind. Mold me to be like Jesus. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
