Who can add anything to Jesus? He is the Almighty One, the Good Shepherd, Immanuel, King of Kings, and so much more. When I think about our thought “Jesus Alone”, it reminds me that He is sufficient. The word sufficient means to be enough; to be qualified; to be adequate.
“Jesus Alone” can be explained in Hebrews 9:11-12 like this, “So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.”
“Jesus Alone” means He has my heart, my full commitment. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 22 verses 37 and 38, “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”
At the end of your life, what will it be? Riches, worldly possessions, perfect health, a great job, traveling around the world, or the perfect marriage. For me, just give me Jesus and Him alone!
