The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

As human beings we tend to take credit for many things. We take pride in the fact that we are knowledgeable about everything. We puff ourselves up when we get promoted. As imperfect beings, we gloat about our appearances and possessions. When our stuff and this old world passes away, what will we have? Today is a good day to give the glory, appreciation, and honor to the One who not only gave you the ability to accomplish so much but to the One who deserves it because “Jesus Did That”!

Our fleshy nature desires to give people or ourselves glory for what we have. This sin nature does not want us to acknowledge the one who opened the door for us. Therefore, we must remember Isaiah 42:8. It says, “I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.” Keep in mind, “Jesus Did That”.

This world desires to be like Jesus. The world craves for His credit and His power. We must bear in mind not to be like the world but to be set apart. Therefore, we need to reflect on Philippians 2:13 that says, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” Remember, “Jesus Did That”.

It’s strange how the world constantly denies that Jesus is and was the only Son of God, but they desire all His attributes. But on today there is only one Jesus. There is only one way maker. There is only one Savior. There is only one!!! Why? Because “Jesus Did That”.

Search yourself and go deeper:

  1. What area in your life have you leaned toward taking the credit for your success? NOTE: Taking credit can come in small or big packages.
  2. Ask God to cleanse you from any hidden faults (see Psalm 19:12-14).
  3. Think about today. What has Jesus done for you? Testify to someone that “Jesus Did That”.
  4. Read and meditate on Psalm 19. David speaks about the self-revelation of God.
