The word “plead” means to tell or defend your case or cause. Just as lawyers plead for their client’s innocence, Jesus pleads for us in heaven.
In Romans 8:34 it says, “Who then will condemn us? Will Christ? No! For he is the one who died for us and came back to life again for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to God, pleading for us there in heaven.”
To know that Jesus is pleading for you doesn’t mean you will not face trials and tribulations. I encourage you to have the spirit of Jesus and say, “Not as my will Lord, but yours be done.” Ask the Lord what He wants you to learn from this. God will honor His word and your faithfulness. For Psalms 84:10 says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: The Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
If you never receive anything else from Jesus, remember He has pleaded for you since the beginning of time. He has given you himself. Jesus has given you His life. Every morning, He gives you His grace, mercy and peace. Let us realize that regardless of our circumstances, Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is pleading for us in heaven.
Search myself and go deeper: When everyone had forsaken me and only Jesus and I remained, how did he plead my case? To whom did I give the glory? Praise Jesus today for his faithfulness.
Prayer: Most gracious heavenly Father, I thank you that you are always there. Lord, I give you free reign in my life. Jesus, allow me to meet someone today that I can encourage with my testimony.
