The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

Have you ever been through something, and the pain was so deep that you couldn’t speak? Think about that time when you felt alone and there was no help in sight. What about that time when you thought you would lose your mind if something didn’t change? These are the times when you and I realize that our strength is no match for what we are facing. Jesus is fully aware of when we are confused and discouraged. He is not surprised when you’re hurt and disappointed by someone you love. I thank God today that “Jesus Knows”!

“Jesus Knows” because He is our High Priest. Hebrews 4:14-16 tells us, “So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

“Jesus Knows” because He is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:17-19 reminds us, “The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.”

“Jesus Knows” because His grace is enough. As Paul was pleading to God to remove His thorn, He said in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9, “Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Because Jesus knows, He will show up just like he always does! We can have confidence that He loves us. Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. Be encouraged today because “Jesus Knows”!
