It is important for you and me to know that God loves us regardless of what we are going through. Romans 5:5 reminds us, “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Because we are human, it is easy for us to lose focus of the fact that we are loved. It is hard to see God moving on our behalf when we are focused on our pain or on our problems. There are life moments where you cry out, “Lord, Help Me!”
“Lord, Help Me! I have been faced with a death in my family again.” God knows that you and I are human. We don’t fully understand death like Him. But I am encouraged by what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:6-8, “So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” Even with death, God causes all things to work together. You and I don’t know if someone’s death will bring a person to Jesus Christ.
“Lord, Help Me! I am facing another setback in my health.” None of us truly understand why God chooses to heal some people on this side of Heaven while others are healed on the other side of Heaven. Nonetheless, I believe God’s word is true. James 5:16 says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Regardless if God heals on this side or not, you are healed according to the word of God.
It is ok to cry, to feel hurt or even be discouraged at your life issues. However, you and I cannot stay at that place. We must come to ourselves and know that God is our El Roi. He sees you. He sees me. God’s love is not dependent on our circumstances. He loves because HE IS LOVE! On today, God is listening. He is ready to receive you as you say to Him “Lord, Help Me!”
“Lord, Help Me!” Cry Out Prayer: Lord Jesus, my life seems to be out of control. When I turn to the left there is death. When I turn to the right there is more death. Jesus, I know you have your ways. Because you are God, I do not have to understand your ways but to trust your plan. Lord, Help Me! Lord God, even in my confusion, I will praise you. Even in my pain, I will magnify your name. You have bottled up my tears and you keep a record of them. Lord, I need your comfort. Lord, I need your help. I can not live this life without you carrying me. I am depending on you to do what only you can do…. heal, comfort, extend peace, and love like no other. I love you still, Lord. In Jesus’ name accept this cry out prayer. Amen.
