The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

I remember a time when I wandered far from God, searching for fulfillment in everything and everyone but Him. I thought the answers to life’s struggles could be found in worldly things, in people, but no matter where I went or what I sought, there was always a feeling of emptiness. I was lost, chasing after things that could never truly satisfy me. But just when I felt completely abandoned and unsure of where to turn, something changed—Jesus came looking for me. In the same way the shepherd in Luke 15:4-7 leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep, Jesus actively searches us out, calling us back to His loving embrace.

Jesus pursues us with a love that is patient, unrelenting, and full of grace, showing us that we were never truly alone. Jesus’ pursuit of us is deeply intentional and personal. Revelation 3:20 shows His patient love: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” In my own life, even when I didn’t know I needed Him, He was knocking, waiting for me to respond. Like Zacchaeus in Luke 19:10, where Jesus says, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost,” His pursuit is never about condemnation but about love and restoration. Jesus seeks us out with compassion, proving that His love is greater than our failures.

No matter where life takes you or how far you stray, remember that Jesus’ love is so great that He will always search you out, seeking to bring you home.
