On this “More Monday”, I want to encourage you to desire MORE! More money, no. More status, no. More worldly possessions, no. More of what you might ask. MORE OF JESUS!
How can you and I have more of Jesus? It is a matter of one’s heart. Do you desire Jesus? Psalm 42:1-2 says, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” Simply ask Him for more!
What is wrong with wanting the finer things in life? What is the danger of not wanting more of Jesus? Well, 1 John 2:15-17 says, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
If you find yourself not wanting a “More Monday”, I pray that Jesus will touch your heart today. Jesus wants to give you more of Him but your heart has to be all in! He wants to give you more love, more patience, more strength, and more faith. His word is true when it says in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
My desire on this “More Monday” is that Jesus will flood your spirit, your mind, and your heart with MORE of Him that your life will never be the same.
“More Monday” Prayer and Praise: Most Gracious, Heavenly Father, something is missing from my life. I have searched all over to try and find things or people to satisfy me but nothing is working. Lord, I want to desire more of you. I know I need more of you. This world and the people in it let me down over and over again. Help me to put my full trust in you. Forgive me for not desiring more of you before today. Forgive me for searching for other things and people to give me what you want to give me. Jesus, I thank you that I am forgiven. I thank you that in you there is no condemnation. I thank you for dying for me. Jesus, I praise and magnify you for being good to me even when I didn’t deserve your goodness. On this “More Monday”, Jesus fix my heart so that I will desire more of you and not this world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
