To “press on” means to push your way through. I remember when I first heard this saying by my mother. She said sometimes when you are going through something, you simply have to “press on”.
To “press on” means you are determined not to be defeated by your circumstances. When Jesus was in the wilderness and being tempted by the devil in Matthew Ch. 4, he kept declaring with the word of God, “It is written…”, “It is written…”, “It is written…”, “It is written…”
To “press on” means you have been persuaded that nothing or no one will keep you from having victory. Paul asked two questions in Romans 8:31 and 35, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” and “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Paul was determined to “press on” and he encourages us today to “press on”.
Lastly, to “press on” means that we can not give up. Why? Because Jesus never gave up on us. Remember, Jesus endured shame and the wounds of the cross for you and for me. Jesus keeps interceding on our behalf. He continues to make a way for us. His love is ever present with you and me. I encourage you today to press on toward the mark so you will be able to receive your crown of righteousness. There is victory on the other side of your press, so “PRESS ON“!
Search myself and go deeper: We have all felt like throwing our hands up at the trials and tribulations of this world. But glory be to God he has defeated death and we will reign with him one day. How can I press on today? Despite maybe my lack of money, love (so I think), or life situation, how can I press on with Jesus as my guide?
