Restore means to return (someone or something) to a former condition, place, or position. If you or something in your life needs restoration, you are in the right place, reading a right now encouraging word. God has a way of perfectly rebuilding and repairing us. He is an expert on the broken, forgotten, misdirected, and misunderstood.
If we look in the Old Testament in Jeremiah 33, God has promised to give restoration to His people. Verses 6-8 tells us, “Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me.”
When we look in the New Testament there are accounts one after another of Jesus restoring someone. There is Mark 3:5 that tells us that Jesus restored a withered man’s hand. Then we have Mark 8:25 that tells us about how Jesus restored a blind man’s eyesight.
What about you? Are you in need of restoration? Is there anything in your life that need God’s intervention? Maybe you are spiritually worn out, brokenhearted, in need of renewed faith, a transformed mind, or a desire again for God and His Word. Whatever you and I are lacking on today, we can lay our needs at the feet of the God who restores.
