The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

How much do you desire to be more like Jesus?

Today, I want to encourage you that if Jesus loved then we must declare, “So Will I”. For His word reminds us in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” We can’t stop with God’s love for us, but we are to love others. If God loved others, we must declare, “So Will I”. 1 John 4:7 says, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”

Today, I want to encourage you that if Jesus obeyed God, then we must say, “So Will I”. For His word says in James 1:22, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

Today, I want to encourage you that if Jesus denied himself then we must respond, “So Will I”. Galatians 2:20 reminds us, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Today’s thought is simple. Our heartbeats must be to honor Jesus with everything in us. It is more than what we say but it is how we live our lives. We can accomplish this with the help of the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit works in you and in me, when we are faced with the “Cancel Cultures” of the world or battles in life, we will be empowered with godly boldness and strength to proclaim what Jesus said!

Since God is no respect of persons (see Romans 2:11), He calls sin, sin! If we are followers of Jesus, regardless of the obstacle, regardless of the person, and regardless of the situation, we must be Christ like and say, “So Will I”.

Search yourself and go deeper:

  1. What issues or life situations have you not agreed with God and His word on?
  2. Why have you not declared “So Will I”?
  3. Listen to the Holy Spirit and obey what He is saying at this moment.
