We cannot rely on our own strength, our capacity as humans, or the strength of others to continue this race called life. Everything in life is subject to fail us except Jesus. We must look only to Him and the Word of God to give us the strength we need. You and I can only “Stay the Course” with Jesus!
In Ephesians 6, it talks about putting on the whole armor of God. In order for us to “Stay the Course”, you and I must put into action what the Word says. Paul says in verse 10, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Realizing that Jesus is the only one who can give us strength is crucial. Then we can be encouraged by the words in Psalm 55:22. It tells us to, “Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”
We cannot allow the worries of this world to divert our attention from our goal-which is Heaven; to meet Jesus in peace! I am reminded of the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:22. It says, “The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced.” We must keep our attention on God and His Word in order to avoid becoming sidetracked with deadly distractions. Today, I urge you to “Stay the Course”!
