Webster describes joy as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. The world loves to give us fake joy. Joy in the form of money, a job, or possessions. Joy that may come from having the “perfect” relationship with the love of your life. We tend to look for people and situations to give us joy. Let’s be real everyone wants joy. But who only wants the kind of joy that depends on other people or our circumstances? “That Joy” that I want us to talk about today is the joy that only Jesus can offer us.
“That Joy” gives us Romans 15:13. It says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
“That Joy” gives us Psalm 16:11. It proclaims, “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”
“That Joy” gives us John 15:11. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”
“That Joy” gives us Psalm 126:5-6. It reminds us, “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”
We can be thankful today for “That Joy” that comes from Jesus. His joy is not based on people, your job, your circumstances, the doctor’s report, or your martial status. “That Joy” can only be found in the one who paid the price for you and me to have it.
“That Joy” Praise Report: Jesus!!!!!! Oh God, we give you glory for that joy. That joy that Jesus shed His blood for us to have. We worship you for you are the only one who is worthy of that joy. That joy makes me smile. That joy is indescribable. That joy puts me in awe of you. You are the giver of pure joy. The world manufactures joy but not you. You give your people authentic JOY! On today, we thank you. We are grateful for “That Joy” that makes everything alright. “That Joy” that is love. “That Joy” that makes our enemies question us. “That Joy” that the enemy of our soul tries to steal from us but can’t! Jesus, get the glory from “That Joy”. Lord, we love you and we thank you for “That Joy”. In Jesus’ name we praise you, Amen.
