We all have experienced victory, maybe at a sport’s events or in a particular situation in our lives. If we remember them, the victory seemed so sweet, and we were on a high of excitement.
But “True Victory” comes from believing that Jesus is the son of God as written in 1 John 5:3-5. It says, “Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.” Your reward is not in this present world, but our goal should be Christ. Paul wrote in Philippians 3:8 and 9, “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.”
“True Victory” comes from knowing that Jesus has paid the price for our sins- past, present, and future. We are no longer under the law but under grace. In Romans 10:4, Paul wrote, “For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.” Our “True Victory” cannot be found in anything or anyone except in the Lamb of God whose name is Jesus.
