When it comes to people, trust involves having faith in their integrity, honesty, fairness, friendliness, or any other sound principle. However, to put your trust in action is to have confidence in; to rely on. If you are anything like me, I desire to know the why in situations. I want to understand the entire situation. Nevertheless, when it comes to Jesus, you and I must “Trust Him with the Details”.
Life has a way of orchestrating our anxiety. We can get bent out of shape and restless over many things. Philippians 4:6-7 states, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” These verses are instructing us to pray, ask, and praise God and when we do, we can “Trust Him with the Details”.
If I am honest, I have to work very hard to stay focused on “my race”. Satan loves for you and me to take our eyes off of our race, off of Jesus. He yearns for us to be concerned about what people do. But I encourage you today not to fret. I was shocked to discover that the biblical definition for fret in reference to Psalm 37:1 means to heat or inflame oneself. God desires for us to be content. We have to “Trust Him with the Details”. Psalm 37:1-2 reminds us, “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.”
Because you and I serve a faithful God with a proven track record, we can “Trust Him with the Details” of our lives.
