The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

When we watch TV, we keep turning the channel until we find what we like or what we want to watch. Before today, you might have been on channel “I’m Too Weak”. Before today, you’ve been on channel “Life Is Too Hard”. Even now, you’ve been on channel “I Don’t Want To Deny Myself”. Some of us might have been watching too much of the channel “What Do the Lonely Do?”. But today is a new day and it’s time for you to turn the channel.

If you are watching the “Worried About Anything” movie, turn the channel. On channel Philippians 4:19, it says, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Then if I turn to channel 1 Peter 5:7 it says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

If you are watching the “Lack of Faith” miniseries, turn the channel. On channel Romans 10:17 it says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

If you are watching the soap opera “The Young and the I Need A Healing”, turn the channel. On channel Exodus 15:26 it says, “…for I am the Lord that heals you.”

If you are watching Dr. Phil and the topic for the day is “I Want to Trust You Lord, BUT”, turn the channel. On channel Proverbs 3:5 it says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.”

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, if you keep watching the same channel and doing the same things and getting the same results then it is time to turn the channel to….GOD’S WORD and stay there.

Search myself and go deeper: I am stuck on channel ___________. What scripture tells me about the channel that I am watching? I might be stuck on other channels. I will pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help me to turn the channel to God’s word.
