What do you do when you don’t know what to do? Do you seek counsel from family or friends? Are you searching for your own solutions? When money cannot solve your problem, what do you do? If your child is disobedient and unruly, where do you turn? If you are a believer in Jesus, He should be your first choice.
So, “What Do I Do?” First, seek the Lord. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” Then Psalm 9:10 says, “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you.”
“What Do I Do?” Pray. Paul simply reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to never stop praying.
Once you have prayed, you might be wondering “What Do I Do?” You trust in the Lord! God’s word is full of trust scriptures that will not only encourage us, but we will gain strength from them. Psalm 28:7 says, “The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
As you and I are trusting in the Lord, we must praise Him for His will to be done. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” Then Psalm 109:30 reminds us to, “But I will give repeated thanks to the LORD, praising him to everyone.”
After I have done all of this, “What Do I Do?” You and I must repeat the process. Remember that Galatians 5:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
