1 Timothy 4:8 tells us, “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” Many of us place a high price on our jobs, money, relationships, and the pleasures of this world. But what do you value? Is God’s Word the standard in your life? Hebrews 4:12 reminds us, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
Is your life all about you? Do you value your desires over God’s will? 1 Peter 3:11-14 says, “Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil. Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.”
When Jesus has truly captured your heart and mind, whatever God says is what you say! No matter how God tells you how to live is how you will live! Today, prioritize what God values as supreme in your life.
