I’ll admit that I’m crazy and stubborn when it comes to Jesus, God’s Word, and what the Word says about me. Why do I say this? When have been rescued, redeemed, and set free, your mindset is different. Our lives are forever changed when you have had an encounter with Jesus. “When I Came to Myself” I was then able to testify that I know what God can do!
The familiar story of the prodigal son is found in Luke 15 verses 11 through 32. Jesus tells us about this parable in the gospel of Luke to illustrate God’s mercy and forgiveness for sinners. It is about a young son who asks his father for his inheritance, then leaves his home and wastes his money on a sinful lifestyle. He ends up in poverty and misery, working for a pig farmer. He repents and decides to return to his father, who welcomes him with joy and compassion.
“When I Came to Myself”, I realized my life is not about me, but about Jesus. Galatians 2:20 reminds us, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
“When I Came to Myself”, I realized I don’t have to live in defeat and depression. 1 John 5:5 tells us, “And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.”
“When I Came to Myself”, I realized that the only way I can have REAL peace is through Jesus. In John 16:33, Jesus says, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
When we have an encounter with Jesus, the scales will fall from our eyes, and we will see Jesus as Lord and Savior.
