The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

Who do you identify with…the culture or God’s standard? Do you desire to please this world or to please God? Well, in order to be a true follower of Jesus Christ, we must say what God says. Our lives, including our actions, should be like a billboard. Our Christian billboard should draw the attention of everyone who sees us. It should scream out “Yes, I Agree”!

“Yes, I Agree” that sin is sin. When we investigate the writings of the Apostle Paul, he addresses all kinds of ungodliness. From Romans chapter 1 to the church at Corinth and to Titus, Paul urged the Church to agree with God and His standards. Galatians chapter 5 verses 19-21 tells us about the works of our sinful flesh. It says, “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” So, if we “say”, we are a Christian, then our actions should mimic the same disdain for sin as God does.

You and I cannot get caught up in foolish and unfruitful discussions about God and Jesus. Give people the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to do His job. Our job, as believers in Jesus, is to testify about Jesus as God and His redemptive sacrifice then we can say of His Word, “Yes, I Agree”!
