The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

It baffles me how this world chooses to turn away from acknowledging who and what God is. Ever since the beginning of time, there has always been skeptics. Many people will boast and say, “If I can see it and touch it, then I will believe it.” This is actually sad. Skeptics and non-believers are telling God that they trust their human, flawed knowledge and understanding rather than the God that created everything. In these last days, it is crucial for the believer to not only know Church history and God’s word but to be able to defend the reason why they are a Christian (see 1 Peter 3:15).

“Yes, That God!” created the world. Genesis 1:1-2 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” Simply, if God said it then I believe it.

“Yes, That God!” loves you. John 3:16-19 reminds us, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.”

Your God, my God is all-knowing. He is all-powerful. He is full of love and compassion. There is no other god except Jehovah. All other gods are imitators. God’s character is unmatched. Someone needs to be reminded today that God is in control over every situation. Give Him glory today because you serve the only true and living God…. “Yes, That God!”

Action Plan: Choose 1

1. Read and meditate on 1 Corinthians 13 about the character of God

2. Read and meditate about how God Is Omniscient (He Is All-Knowing) in Isaiah 46

3. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to a specific chapter/verse in God’s word then worship Him.
