The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

Our world has become so advanced that it seems impossible for us to experience isolation. However, you may live in a house full of people and still feel that no one understands you. You may have friends that you are able to hang out with you, but they may not be able to relate to what you are going through. Think about how Jesus felt growing up. John 7:5 says, “For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.” Wow! That would separate anyone.

To combat your feelings of being alone, you must turn to the Scripture. 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us, “For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” No matter what your situation is, you cannot forget how loved you are. 1 John 3:1a tells us, “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” At the end of the day, you and I cannot forget who we are in Christ! So regardless of how you are feeling or where you are this present moment, “You Are Not Alone”!

“You Are Not Alone” Prayer: Most Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you because you are God. There is no one like you, Lord. We thank you for covering us. We thank you that we may “feel” alone, but your word confirms that we are never alone. THAT IS GOOD NEWS! Lord, help us to saturate ourselves in scripture so we will know where our hope is. Our hope is not in people or possessions, but our only hope is in you, Jesus. Touch those places where there is confusion or hurt. Heal our broken places. Speak peace to our troubled minds so we will know that you are right here with us. We love you, Lord! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
