The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

We are living in difficult times where you and I are tired, discouraged, challenged, pressed and stressed on every side. The enemy, who is Satan, wants you and I to give up.  He wants to wear us out. But the word of God tells us in Isaiah 40:31-32, “…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like the eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” So on today, put your hope in the Lord and you can fly over anything!

We are in a spiritual war. For you and I to put on our wings so we can fly over anything will not be easy. In order for you to be victorious, you must get dressed! According to the word of God, Ephesians 6:13 says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” When you are properly dressed, you can fly over anything!

Next, in order for you and I to win, we must praise God. Praise Him for his holiness, for His faithfulness and because He is worthy of our praise. Oh, I know you won’t feel it…I have been there. But it is something about praising Jesus that just makes the devil mad!!!! Isaiah chapter 6 verses 2 and 3 describes the seraphs as saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” When we praise God, he is in the situation with us (see Psalm 22:3).

Lastly, in order for you and I to fly over anything we must stand on the word of God and His promises. My brother and my sister, guard your mouth. Life and death is in the power of your tongue (see Proverbs 18:21). God will honor His word. If you want God to honor your words, you will have to start speaking His word over yourself. Isaiah 54:17 declares, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.” If you and I want to fly over anything, we must know His word.

In my life, I have learned and experienced that when trials and tribulations arise Satan had to get God’s permission first to do anything. So, if God gives Satan permission to “try” you, just know that you can fly over anything!

Search yourself and go deeper: What is your issue today? What does God’s word say about it? Do you believe God’s word?

Action Plan: Pray to God about your situation. Find scriptures that help you with this situation. Take God at His word and pray for rest and faith.
