Today’s thought aims to serve as a gentle reminder that our perception of time can often deceive us, leading us to believe that we have an abundance of time. James 4:14 reminds us, “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” As a faithful believer in Jesus, it is crucial that you measure your time because “You Can’t Afford Not To”. Theologians credit Moses as the author of Psalm 90. In talking to the Lord, he said in verse 12, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.” Then I love how Psalm 39:4 says, “LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.” We cannot afford not to implore wisdom in our lives if we desire to measure our days. If we want to measure our days, we cannot afford not to pray for and seek after wisdom.
We cannot afford to take God’s grace and mercy for granted. Ephesians 2:12 tells us how we lived in this world without God and without hope. “You Can’t Afford Not To” love because 1 Corinthians 16:14 reminds us, “And do everything with love.” Naturally, both you and I cannot overlook the significance of living a godly life, free from any kind of negative, sinful emotions or holding grudges. Ephesians chapter 4 verses 31 and 32 says, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
At the end of the day, it is necessary that we dedicate ourselves to serving Jesus, because we can’t afford to wait.
