The mind is a funny thing. It has been my experience that I can be thinking about godly things and then my mind goes left. Have you ever been dealing with a personal or work situation and somehow your mind starts battling between bad and good scenarios? When you and I are facing daily attacks, it is crucial that we put on our spiritual armor. Ephesians 6:11 reminds us, “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” One part of our armor we must have on is God’s word. Ephesians 6:17 says, “….take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” What does this mean? It means that when the enemy of your soul attacks you with lies, you combat those lies with the truth which is the word of God.
When the enemy is beating up your mind, you speak the word of God. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” If we desire to win the battle of the mind, we have to take advantage of our weapons. Philippians 4:8 tells us to, “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
In order for us to say, “You Can’t Have My Mind”, you and I have got to be surrounded, covered, and drenched in the powerful word of God.
