Many of us are quick to say, “I trust Jesus.” When you and I are faced with the harsh reality of our situation, our actions say the opposite. It is impossible to trust Jesus and still act as though we are in control of our life circumstances. Regardless of the different trials and tribulations we face, our lives should demonstrate that we put our full weight in trusting Jesus.
To find encouragement today, we must go to the Scripture. Let’s start with David. David trusted God while hiding in a cave. Noah trusted God that it would rain. Abraham trusted God that he would have a son at his old age. Peter trusted Jesus and got out of the boat. The woman at the well trusted Jesus to give her living water. By living out Psalm 37:5, each of these individuals put their trust in action. This scripture says, “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.”
Will you give Jesus more than lip service? Will you put your actions to work and trust Him? When you and I put our trust into action, we can live out Proverbs 3:5-6 that promises, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
