The word choice is defined as an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. Life is about choices. Do you work or go hungry? Will I forgive or hold a grudge? Should I turn left or go right? Should I read my Bible or watch Hulu? In the book of Joshua chapter 24, the Israelites were faced with several decisions. Joshua implores them to devote themselves to the Lord and renounce their inherited idols. Additionally, Joshua cautions them about the consequences of turning away from God, emphasizing His wrath. Joshua asked them a series of questions and one bold statement in Joshua 24:15 which was choose this day who you will serve. At the end of this, the people made a choice to serve the Lord.
Life on Earth revolves around the decisions we make. The most crucial decision we face is determining our eternal destination. Regrettably, some individuals believe in multiple gods and various paths to reach Heaven, which is simply inaccurate. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” So, your choice is Jesus or another god? Heaven or hell? Life or death? Your way or God’s way? Matthew chapter 7 verses 13 and 14 reminds us, “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
Because God chose to send His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, surely, we can choose to live for Him because “It’s a Choice”!
