The Thought For Today

Encouraging You Through God's Word

The phrase “make room” means to clear space for something. In life, the reality is we make room for what is important to us. We will carve out time to workout daily or three times a week. People have been known to plan for “mecations” to make time for themselves. Do you know someone who made room for their education? They studied, sacrificed sleep and their time, and applied for a loan all because they made room for something they desired. But on today, how many of us “Make Room for Jesus”?

“Make Room for Jesus” because He willingly sacrificed His life for you. Paul explained the sacrifice of Jesus in Romans 5:6-10. It says, “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”

When you “Make Room for Jesus” you will seek Him. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

“Make Room for Jesus” because distractions are your enemy. Hebrews 12:1 reminds us, “…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

Make Room for Jesus” because He loves you. Jesus said in John 15:12-13, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

At the end of day, you and I need a Savior! I recommend Jesus to you. So, when you invite Him in your heart and deny yourself, you can “Make Room for Jesus”!

Make Room for JesusPrayer for the Unbeliever: I confess that I do not know you, Jesus. But something has drawn me to you today. Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner who needs to be saved. I repent of my sins. I confess that I have been trying to live this life on my own terms and it’s not working. I need you! I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE THE ONLY WAY TO GOD; THERE IS NO OTHER WAY EXCEPT THROUGH YOU, JESUS! I thank you for accepting me into your kingdom. By your Spirit, lead me to the right church fellowship where I can grow and learn more about you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Make Room for JesusPrayer for the Believer: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have been selfish. I have not made room for you in my life. If the truth is told, I give you my leftovers. Jesus, forgive me. I need your Holy Spirit to help me make room for you each and every day of my life. I thank you for the sacrifice that you made on my behalf. Starting today, I will not take you and the price you paid for me for granted. Strengthen me daily to do your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
